Optech Monette expanded it’s presence in the contract operations business into the Northeast when it sign a contract with Fort Dix. This contract calls for the operation and maintenance of the 12 MGD Tertiary Wastewater Treatment Facility. The facility has a trickling filter and also used the Bardenpho system for extended mixing and aeration. The staff oversees four 100 foot diameter clarifiers that eventually send the effluent to sand filters for polishing. The final effluent travels through an ultraviolet disinfection system before leaving the facility grounds. The effluent is pumped across Fort Dix to a massive 110 acre Land Application System.

Our staff maintains the 12 basins at the LAS by scarifying on a scheduled basis. We are also handling the maintenance of the collection system and are required to clean 50 miles of collection lines each year. The staff maintains the numerous pumping stations on Fort Dix, as well as conducting all process laboratory testing. The twenty-four hour operation sees massive quantities of sludge disposed of by utilizing two belt filter presses on a continuous basis.
